Shipping MOD Batteries Internationally

MOD BIKES batteries are lithium-ion and as such, are categorized as 'dangerous goods'. Due to this, we must adhere to federal regulations as well as the destination country's regulations when transporting such batteries. The process of packaging a battery and ensuring the appropriate documentation requires additional time and clearances.

Dangerous Goods Packaging & Certifications

Prior to a battery leaving our MOD Bikes warehouse, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) certification and approval is required.

A battery must go through Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) certification and gain approval, which takes about 5-7 business days from when the order was placed. After certification, it’s another 3-5 business days for a battery to be processed to leave our warehouse.

Transit Times Vary

Regulations require batteries be delivered using ground transportation. Transit times will vary depending on your location in the US or Canada. For deliveries overseas, the battery must make the slow journey by boat.

Track Delivery Status

When the battery leaves our warehouse, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number supplied by the courier (e.g. FedEx, DHL). The courier’s tracking number will give you delivery updates and timelines.
