Austin Energy Rebate
Congratulations on the purchase of your brand new MOD BIKE! If you live within the Austin City Limits and your electrical provider is Austin Energy, then you are eligible for up to a $600 Rebate. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of submitting the rebate application online. Once the application is submitted and approved, a check will be mailed to the Austin Energy account holder within 6-8 weeks.

Step 1: Understand your eligibility
- Your electrical provider must be Austin Energy
- You must have purchased a new e-bike from MOD BIKES
- The application must be submitted within 60 days of purchase or delivery
- The name and address on the invoice must match the name and address on the Austin Energy account.
Step 2: Prepare documents
- All documents will be submitted digitally
- In the order confirmation email you received from "MOD BIKES" there is a "Download PDF version" button. You can use that to download your invoice. If you have issues finding that email, please reach out to us at howdy@mod-bikes.com and provide your name and order number and we will send you a copy of your invoice.

Austin Energy account number:
You can find the number at the top of your latest statement from Austin Energy.
Your bike VIN number:
The VIN is usually engraved on the front of the bike frame, just above the front fork. The VIN can be also printed on a barcode sticker next to the pedals. (The VIN starts with 2-3 Letters followed by a series numbers. Such as "LX20120132" or “SMN2001042”)
Step 3: Fill out the online application
Step 3.1
- Go to the Austin Energy website
- Click the tab "How to Apply"
- On the right of your screen click the button "Apply Online"
- Check the "Electric Account Holder" box
- Type your Austin energy account number
- Type your house number and zip code and click "next"
Step 3.2
- Fill out your personal information and click "next"
Step 3.3
- Check the " Applicant" box and click "next"
Step 3.4
- Click the "+" button
- Add the number of bikes you are requesting a Rebate for and click "ok"
- Fill out the information as follow:
- Quantity: 1 (NOTE: If you are requesting a rebate for more than one bike press the blue "+" button and repeat these steps.)
- Cost: Only include the total of the bike plus tax (do not include accessories)
- Type: E-Bike: Two-Wheel (Sidecar not considered 3-wheels)
- Manufacturer: MOD BIKES
- Model: As shown on the invoice (ie: MOD City+, MOD Berlin, MOD Easy, or MOD Black.)
- Vin: Type your bike VIN number
- Dealership: Mod Bikes
- At the bottom of the page, you will see the Rebate amount you are qualified for.
- Press the blue "+" button to add additional bikes or click "next".
Step 3.5
- Review the details and click "next"
Step 3.6
- Upload Invoices and specification sheets
Step 3.7
- Agree to the terms and conditions and click "next".
Step 3.8
- Review that the information you submitted is correct and click "submit".
Step 3.9
- After submitting the application you will see your confirmation number, please keep this number as you will need it in case you will want to check the status of your rebate.
That's it, You are done! in 6-8 weeks you will receive your rebate check in the mail!
How to check the status of your rebate
- Go to the Austin Energy website (or click here).
- Click the tab "How to Apply".
- On the right of your screen click the button "Check Status".
- Type the confirmation number you received after submitting the application.
- Click "Search".
- Please note that it may take 6-8 weeks to receive your rebate check, so we recommend that you wait until after that timeframe to reach out regarding its status.
