Why We Designed Our Own Motor

One of the biggest challenges in designing electric bikes is selecting an appropriate motor for the bike's needs. We have partnered with industry-leading manufacturers to design motors specific to each of our models; assuring they operate at peak performance. 

Designing our own motors provides faster support for our customers. Our level of quality control goes hand-in-hand with reliability.  We are so confident in the performance provided by our motors that we offer an 18-month warranty. Most importantly, by cutting out the middle-man we are able to cut the cost of our motors, which tend to be one of the most expensive components of any electric bike.

How Our Motors Compare to Our Competitors

Our motors are more powerful, have higher torque, and provide more versatility than most of the electric motors on the market. The displays that we paired with our motors provide an incredible range of adjustability, allowing our customers to tailor their bike's performance level to their needs. The rate of acceleration and the speed-limit can be altered, and you can switch between the different assist modes with ease. Our 18-month motor warranty is one of the longest in the industry. 

Why is there No Throttle on Our Mid-Drive Motor?

The simplest answer to this question is that mid-drive motors output more torque than comparable hub-drive motors. 

Mid-drives work synergistically since they rely on the rider's peddling power. Given that the torque output of the motor directly correlates with the torque input of the rider, our mid-drive motors come without a throttle, prolonging the life of your bike.
