Installing the Front Basket

The following guide will help you through the process of installing your Front Basket to your MOD BIKE.

MOD Easy                                                                                                                                                All Other MOD Models

Gather the Necessary Tools and Parts:

To install your new front basket to your MOD BIKE you will need a 10mm socket wrench,and/or crescent wrench, a 5mm allen wrench, cable snips, your basket, and the quick-release mounting bolts.

Remove the Headlamp:

Other than the MOD Berlin, all MOD BIKES models have a suspension fork with a lot of travel (the amount the suspension depresses). Due to this, the front basket either requires the suspension to be locked out (turn-off) or the headlamp to be relocated; the latter is recommended.

  • Unzip the cable sleeve
  • Cut the zip-ties with your cable snips and disconnect the headlamp's julet connector.
  • Using two wrenches (socket wrenches/crescent wrenches/allen wrenches) loosen and remove the headlamp mounting bolt from the headlamp mount.

Attach the Front Basket:

  • Thread quick-release mounting bolts through the eyelets in opposite directions of one another and tighten down. Ensure the top quick-release lever is on the same side as your cable sleeve and fold it down.

Mount the Headlamp to the Front Basket:

Your Front Basket comes equipped with a light mount on the underside of its frame.

  • Using your wrenches, attach the headlamp to the Front Basket light mount and tighten it down at your preferred angle.
  • Thread the headlamp cable through the frame of the Front Basket underneath the bamboo deck.
  • Pop the headlamp cable through the Front Rack mounting bracket.

Final Steps:

  • Connect the headlamp's julet connector.
  • Zip-tie or wrap the excess headlamp cable to the main wire harness.
  • Re-install the cable sleeve.

Important Tips:

Be sure to always disconnect your headlamp's julet connector before removing your Front Basket to avoid causing any damage.
