Tools you will need

  • Adjustable Wrench (included in your bike tool kit)
  • Multitool with Allen Wrenches (included in your bike tool kit)
  • Bolt Tray (or any small container for screws)

Preparation

  • Ensure your bike is powered off and standing securely on the kickstand.
  • Lay out the bench and included hardware.
  • Make sure you have good lighting and enough space to work around the front of the bike.

Steps

Step 1: Choose Your Configuration

Pick the setup that fits your rider’s age, weight, and riding style.

  1. Padded Seat Only
  2. Padded Seat with Backrest
  3. Padded Seat with Backrest, and Handlebars
  4. Padded Seat with Backrest, Handlebars, and Armrest
  5. Dual-Bench Setup (only works on MOD Cargo).

Step 2: Select the fore/aft position

Choose one of two positions based on your bike setup:

  1. Flat position (most bikes): Front edge of the seat aligns with the bottom plate.
  2. Rear position (MOD Easy or dual-bench MOD Cargo): Seat mounts in the rearward set of holes.

Step 3: Assemble seat components

Build the seat according to your chosen configuration.

  • Position components (backrest, handlebars, armrest) as shown in the kit diagrams.
  • Tighten the 8 bolts on the underside of the seat with a 4mm Allen.
  • If using the armrest: remove the two lower backrest bolts, place the armrest bracket underneath, and re-install/tighten.

Step 4: Fit to bike.

  • With the MOD Snap-On Bench fully assembled, attach to the rack on your bike by locating the 4 bolts on the underside of the bench into the holes on the top of the rack and slide back until it clicks in place.
  • Check the bench is securely held in place and the Plunger is fully engaged (as shown below).
  • To remove the MOD Snap-On Bench from the rack, pull the plunger to release the lock and slide the bench forward.

Plunger engaged

Troubleshooting

  • Bench won’t lock  Re-check alignment of the underside bolts with rack holes, then slide firmly until you hear/feel a click. Confirm plunger engagement.
  • Seat feels loose  Retighten the eight underside bolts (4mm Allen). Remove/re-seat the bench and re-lock.
  • Armrest/backrest misaligned  Loosen, re-center components, then re-tighten evenly.

⚠️ Important: Do not exceed 65 lbs passenger weight. Ensure all bolts are snug and the plunger is fully engaged before every ride.
