Estimated Time

10–20 Min

Before You Start

Tools you will need

  • Adjustable Wrench (included in your bike tool kit)

  • Multitool with Allen Wrenches (included in your bike tool kit)

  • Bolt Tray (or any small container for screws)

  • Power drill

  • Phillips head screwdriver

Preparation

  • Ensure your sidecar is fully assembled and attached to your MOD Easy.

  • Set aside the included mounting hardware and clamps.

  • Work on a flat surface with good lighting.

Steps

Step 1: Attach Plastic Clamps to Mounting Brackets

  • Take the metal mounting brackets and insert the plastic clamps into each bracket. You should hear a click.

  • Once inserted, slide the top clamp all the way to the top of the bracket to ensure proper spacing and alignment.

  • Make sure each clamp sits flush and moves freely for adjustment.

Step 2: Mount the Brackets to the Windshield

  1. Locate the pre-drilled mounting holes at the bottom of the windshield and align each clamp assembly with the holes.

  2. Make sure the mounting holes face inward toward the center of the sidecar, and the metal bracket tubes sit on the outside of the windshield holes.

  3. Place the Phillips screw heads on the inside of the windshield and the flat barrel nut on the outside so the outer face looks clean and finished.

  4. Tighten until snug but do not overtighten – too much force can crack the acrylic.

Step 3: Drill Mounting Holes on the Sidecar

  • Locate the guide dimples on the sidecar boat.

  • Drill holes in these marked positions for the mounting bolts.

Tip: Double-check hole alignment before drilling the second one to ensure even spacing.

Step 4: Attach Windshield to Sidecar

  • Align the mounting posts with the drilled holes.

  • Insert the bolt + washer on top and the nut on the bottom.

  • Hold the nut and tighten the top bolt until fully snug and seated - do not overtighten.

Note: If you have a MOD Easy Sidecar Sahara, the only difference in the installation process is that the windshield mounting brackets should be installed under the nose rack, as shown in the photo below.

Troubleshooting

  • Windshield feels loose or wobbly → Check that all four Clamp Mounts are evenly tightened and properly seated on the mounting posts. Tighten to full tension without overtightening.

  • Windshield doesn’t line up with Clamp Mounts → Loosen the mounting posts slightly and adjust their angle before reattaching. The windshield should sit centered and even across both sides.

  • Crack or stress mark appears near mounting hole → Stop tightening immediately. Overtightening can stress the acrylic. Replace the bolt with a rubber washer or nylon spacer for cushioning if needed.

FAQs

  • Can I remove the windshield for storage?
Yes. You can easily detach the windshield by removing the Phillips head bolts at the Clamp Mounts.

  • Will this windshield fit other MOD sidecar models?
This upgrade is specifically designed for the MOD Easy Sidecar. While it may appear compatible with similar models, proper fit and alignment cannot be guaranteed.

  • How tall is the windshield once installed?
The assembled windshield stands approximately 15 inches above the sidecar body.

  • Can I ride without tightening to 100%?
No. Riding with loose mounts can cause vibration and damage. Always perform a full check before use.
