Here are some Tips & Tricks to get even more out of your journey.
Parking Brake: Press and hold the brake lever, then press the parking button to lock the brakes (especially useful with a sidecar attached).
Battery On/Off: The battery is housed in the tank and has an on/off button on the side. Remove the battery to access the switch.
Dual Battery Compatible: Compatible with an additional battery for extended range, the dual battery kit can be purchased here and installed on any MOD Easy 3 model. For more on the dual battery option, please click here.
Charging Port: The MOD Easy 3/Sahara both contain a charging port under the tank, so you do not need to remove the battery every time you need to charge.
MOD Connect: The MOD Easy 3/Sahara offers wireless connectivity with the Lumos Ultra helmet, unlocking the helmet's turn signals and brake lights to enhance rider safety. To connect a Lumos Helmet to your MOD Easy 3/Sahara, head on over to this guide: MOD BIKES | MOD Connect Feature
Turn on Headlights: Hold the + button for 2-3 seconds to turn your headlights and tail lights on and off.
Version Number: The version number of your bike can be found on the rear of your seat post. If your bike does not have a number, it is version 01 or 02.
Mounting Locations: The MOD Easy 3/Sahara have pre-drilled, mounting locations specifically for both a water bottle and a foldylock.
Keys: Your Easy 3 comes with 2 sets of keys. Don't lose your Easy keys! They are necessary for opening the tank, which contains the battery and controller.

USB Port: There's a hidden USB port at the bottom of the display screen that will charge certain devices on your ride!
Error Code 25: Be sure not to hold the brakes when turning the bike on! This will activate Error code 25 on your display.
PSI: The proper PSI can be found on the side of your tire. This will let you know the correct pressure to inflate your tire to.
Troubleshooting
Loose handlebars or stem → Tighten stem bolts securely using a torque wrench (typically 5–7 Nm) and confirm alignment with the front wheel.
Brakes rubbing or misaligned → Loosen the caliper bolts, squeeze the brake lever to center the caliper, then retighten bolts while holding the lever.
Pedals won’t thread in or feel stuck → Confirm you're installing the correct pedal on the correct side (L/R marked). Thread in by hand before tightening with a wrench.
Chain falls off or shifts poorly → Check derailleur alignment, limit screws, and chain routing. Adjust cable tension using the barrel adjuster if needed.
Crank or other bolts keep loosening → Remove the bolt, apply thread locker (like Loctite Blue), and re-tighten to spec.

How fast can an e-bike go? → MOD BIKES are Class 3 electric bikes meaning their max speed is 28 mph
How far can an e-bike travel on a single charge? → On flat terrain, and with a full charge, our bikes travel for 50 miles.
Do I need a license or registration to ride an e-bike? → Most of the USA does not require a license or registration to operate Class 3 e-bikes, but some states do. Please check with your local government.
How long does it take to charge an e-bike battery? → 6-8 hours from fully depleted.
Can I ride an e-bike in the rain? → Yes, you can ride the bike in the rain, but we recommend pulling over and waiting under some cover if it is a torrential downpour or hailing.
What’s the difference between pedal assist and throttle? → When you pedal, Pedal Assist activates the motor to certain percentage based on the mode; the throttle activates the motor without pedaling.
How long do e-bike batteries last before needing replacement? → With proper battery maintenance a battery can last upwards of 8+ years.
Can I ride an e-bike without using the motor? → Yes you can! The Pedal Assist can be turned off on all MOD BIKES models.
