Steps

Step 1: Update Helmet Firmware

Download the Lumos Helmet app  (See Image 1)

Follow the Steps in the App & connect your helmet via Bluetooth and install the most current firmware.

Step 2: Remove the helmet as a Bluetooth device

Remove the Helmet from the Lumos App device

Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and forget the device.

Step 3: Access your Settings Menu

Power on your MOD BIKE by holding down the 'i' button, and open the Settings Menu by holding the '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Step 4: Access the Helmet Binding Setting

By scrolling with the '+' and '-' buttons, select Setup by tapping the 'i' button and then select Bind Helmet.

Step 5: Bind your Lumos Helmet

Select Bind New Helmet and put your Lumos helmet in pairing mode by powering it on and continuing to hold the power button until the helmet's lights rapidly flash yellow.

A new helmet serial number will appear on the screen; select it to bind your helmet.

When your helmet is actively connected, you will see a Helmet Icon by your battery level indicator.

Troubleshooting

  • Helmet Will Not Pair → Unsuccessful Initializing → Ensure the Helmet's Firmware is up-to-date and reattempt binding the helmet 2 - 4 times in a row.
  • Intermittent Connectivity → Helmet keeps disconnecting → Return to the Bind Helmet Setting and reconnect the helmet 2 - 4 times in a row.

FAQs

  • Can I use my Lumos Helmet App with my MOD BIKE? The Lumos helmet can only connect to one Bluetooth device at a time. You can only use one or the other.

  • Can I connect my Lumos Helmet to earlier MOD BIKES models? Only V3 models and later have Bluetooth connectivity. Lumos helmets come with a remote control that attaches to the handlebars if you wish to use it with older models.
