Step 2: Learn the Basics

Now that your bike is assembled and ready to ride, take a look at our User Guide to learn the basics and get the most out of your ride!

Step 3: Tips & Tricks to Get the most from your MOD BIKES

Here are some Tips & Tricks to get even more out of your journey.

  • “Bike Stand” Feature: The MOD Cargo bike has a built-in 'bike stand' feature, specifically designed to save space when storing in smaller spaces!

***Use caution when standing the bike up, as it is very heavy. (Full details and instructions can be found in the MOD Cargo User Guide)***

  • Two Snap-On Accessories: If you're using 2 of our snap-on accessories on the back rack of the MOD Cargo, be sure to attach the furthest back accessory first. It will not work the other way around.

  • Second Battery Prong Cover: The MOD Cargo comes with a second battery housing for an additional battery. If you are only using one battery, be sure to protect the prongs of the housing with the cover provided. Do not lose the prong cover!

  • Version Number: The version number of your bike can be found on the rear of your seat post. If your bike does not have a number, it is version 01.

  • Headlights: Hold the + button for 2-3 seconds to turn your headlights and tail lights on and off.

  • Mounting Locations: The MOD Cargo has 2 pre-drilled locations for you to mount a water bottle and Foldylock.

  •  KEYS: DO NOT LOSE YOUR Cargo KEYS! These keys cannot be replaced, and we do not have a master set. The lock and keys are unique to each Cargo bike.

  • Error Code 25: Be sure not to hold the brakes when turning the bike on! This will activate Error code 25 on your display.

  • PSI: The proper PSI can be found on the side of your tire. This will let you know the correct pressure to inflate your tire to.

  • USB Port: There's a hidden USB port at the bottom of the display screen that will charge certain devices on your ride!

  • Serial Number: The serial number for your bike can be found at the bottom of the head tube.

Troubleshooting

  • Loose handlebars or stem → Tighten stem bolts securely using a torque wrench (typically 5–7 Nm) and confirm alignment with the front wheel.

  • Brakes rubbing or misaligned → Loosen the caliper bolts, squeeze the brake lever to center the caliper, then retighten bolts while holding the lever.

  • Pedals won’t thread in or feel stuck → Confirm you're installing the correct pedal on the correct side (L/R marked). Thread in by hand before tightening with a wrench.

  • Chain falls off or shifts poorly → Check derailleur alignment, limit screws, and chain routing. Adjust cable tension using the barrel adjuster if needed.

  • Crank or other bolts keep loosening → Remove the bolt, apply thread locker (like Loctite Blue), and re-tighten to spec.
