Both Pedal Assist & Throttle Not Working
If both the throttle and the pedal assist feature are not working, the first thing that you should do is make sure that your motor's power cable is fully connected to the main wire. If you have a bike with a Hub-Drive motor (MOD City, City+, and Easy), this connection point can be found along the rear chain-stay, about six inches from the motor.
After checking the connection point, examine the cable going into the motor as well to make sure that it is not damaged. This can be done by removing the plastic cap on the axle nut to expose the wire. You will want to make sure that the wire and the spring around the wire are not damaged.
If the motor is properly connected, your next move should be to ensure that the cable from your display is properly connected to the main-wire. This connection point can be found by following the power/signal cable from your bike's display about 8 inches below the display. You may need to remove your bike's cable cover to find this connection. If the connector is completely disconnected, make sure to line up the arrows on each of the connection points before attempting to connect them.
Another thing to inspect are your motor inhibitors. Each of your brake levers has a signal cable that connects them to your bike's computer. When you engage your brakes, this signal tells the bike to stop sending power to the motor. Follow the signal cable on each brake lever and trace them to their connection points to the main wire, which should be located underneath your bike's cable cover.
If the display, motor, and motor inhibitors are all properly connected, you likely have a more serious electrical issue and should send us a message or give us a call as soon as possible.
